How to upload your Powtoon to a Facebook group

If you manage a Facebook group, you can upload a Powtoon directly to it. You can start the upload from within Powtoon Studio or from the preview player after reviewing your Powtoon.

Before you start: Use the square aspect ratio when creating a Powtoon intended for Facebook. This ensures your Powtoon displays correctly in a social feed.

Note: All references to Facebook were accurate at the time of writing and may have changed since publication of this article.

Step 1 — Add Powtoon to your Facebook group (one-time setup)

Before you can upload to a Facebook group for the first time, you need to add Powtoon to that group's apps. You only need to do this once per group.

1. Open the Facebook group you want to upload to.
2. Click ...More at the top of the group page, then click Edit Group Settings.
3. In the Apps section, add Powtoon.

Once Powtoon is added to your group's apps, you can upload from Powtoon Studio or from the preview player using the steps below.

Upload from Powtoon Studio

To upload your Powtoon to a Facebook group directly from Powtoon Studio:

1. In Powtoon Studio, click Export.
   ► If you have exported this Powtoon before, the button shows Publish instead.
2. Select Facebook Group.
3. Click Add Account to connect your Facebook account and grant Powtoon permission to upload to your group.
   ► If you have already connected your account, select it from the list instead.
4. Click Upload destination, then select To a group you manage.
5. Select your Facebook group, then click Next.
6. Set the export details:
   1. Select a category for your Powtoon.
   2. Set the visibility to Public (searchable) or Unlisted. See Making Your Powtoon Private for more information.
   3. Click Next.
7. Set the quality details:
   1. Choose whether to show or hide Powtoon branding (logo and outro) in your video.
   2. Select the video resolution quality.
   3. Click Upload Powtoon.
8. When the upload completes, a confirmation message appears on the Powtoon player page. Click Facebook to view your Powtoon in your group.

You will also receive an email with a link to view the uploaded Powtoon.

Upload from the preview player

To upload your Powtoon to a Facebook group after previewing it:

1. In Powtoon Studio, click Preview.
2. After the preview finishes, click Export.
   ► If you have exported this Powtoon before, the button shows Publish instead.
3. Click Facebook.
4. Click Add Account to connect your Facebook account and grant Powtoon permission to upload to your group.
   ► If you have already connected your account, select it from the list instead.
5. Click Upload destination, then select To a group you manage.
6. Select your Facebook group, then click Next.
7. Set the export details:
   1. Select a category for your Powtoon.
   2. Set the visibility to Public (searchable) or Unlisted. See Making Your Powtoon Private for more information.
   3. Click Next.
8. Set the quality details:
