How to upload your Powtoon to YouTube

You can upload a Powtoon directly to your YouTube channel from two places: Powtoon Studio or the preview player. Both paths lead to the same upload options — connecting your YouTube account, setting privacy, choosing a category, and selecting video quality.

Uploading from Powtoon Studio

To upload your Powtoon to YouTube directly from Powtoon Studio:

1. Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio and click Export in the top toolbar.
   ► If you have exported this Powtoon before, the button will read Publish instead of Export.
2. Select YouTube from the list of export destinations.
3. Click Add Account to connect your YouTube channel and grant Powtoon permission to upload to it.
   ► If you have already connected a YouTube account, select it from the list instead.
4. Set the YouTube privacy settings for your upload, then click Next.
   ► YouTube privacy settings control who can watch your video and where it can appear on YouTube. These are separate from Powtoon's own privacy settings, which control whether your Powtoon is discoverable in search engines.
5. Define the export details:
   1. Select a category for your Powtoon.
   2. Set the Powtoon's visibility to Public (searchable) or Unlisted. See Making Your Powtoon Private for more information.
   3. Click Next.
6. Define the quality details:
   1. Choose whether to show or hide the Powtoon watermark on your video.
   2. Select the video resolution quality.
   3. Click Upload Powtoon.

Uploading from the preview player

To upload your Powtoon to YouTube after previewing it in Powtoon Studio:

1. Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio and click Preview.
2. After the preview finishes, click Export.
3. Select YouTube from the list of export destinations.
4. Click Add Account to connect your YouTube channel and grant Powtoon permission to upload to it.
   ► If you have already connected a YouTube account, select it from the list instead.
5. Set the YouTube privacy settings for your upload, then click Next.
   ► YouTube privacy settings control who can watch your video and where it can appear on YouTube. These are separate from Powtoon's own privacy settings, which control whether your Powtoon is discoverable in search engines.
6. Define the export details:
   1. Select a category for your Powtoon.
   2. Set the Powtoon's visibility to Public (searchable) or Unlisted. See Making Your Powtoon Private for more information.
   3. Click Next.
7. Define the quality details:
   1. Choose whether to show or hide the Powtoon watermark on your video.
   2. Select the video resolution quality.
   3. Click Upload Powtoon.

What happens after the upload

When the upload completes, a confirmation message appears on the Powtoon player page. Click YouTube in that message to go directly to your video on YouTube.

You will also receive a confirmation email containing a link to view your uploaded Powtoon on YouTube.

Your Powtoon will appear in your YouTube channel's video library under the category and visibility settings you selected.

Notes:

1. YouTube privacy settings and Powtoon privacy settings are independent of each other. YouTube settings control visibility on YouTube; Powtoon settings control discoverability within Powtoon and search engines.
2. The watermark and resolution options you select apply only to the YouTube upload and do not affect your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio.
