How to download your Powtoon as a PDF file

You can download any Powtoon as a PDF file. Each slide in your Powtoon becomes a separate page in the PDF. This is useful for sharing static versions of your content without requiring a video player.

Note: Each PDF page is a snapshot of its corresponding slide, captured 0.5 seconds before the end of that slide. Any objects that appear after that point will not be included in the PDF.

Before you start

You can download a Powtoon to PDF from two places:

• Powtoon Studio — use this path if you have the Powtoon open for editing.
• My Powtoons page (Workspace) — use this path if you want to download without opening the editor.

Both paths produce the same PDF output.

Download a PDF from Powtoon Studio

To download your Powtoon as a PDF directly from the editor:

1. Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio.
2. Click Export in the top toolbar.
   ► If you have exported this Powtoon before, the button will read Publish instead of Export. Click it either way.
3. Select Download PDF from the export options menu.
4. Wait for the download process to complete. When it finishes, a confirmation message appears on the Powtoon player page.
5. Click the download link in that message to save the PDF file to your computer.

Download a PDF from your Workspace

To download a Powtoon as a PDF without opening Powtoon Studio:

1. Go to your My Powtoons page (your Workspace).
2. Locate the Powtoon you want to download.
3. Open the options menu for that Powtoon (typically a three-dot or context menu icon).
4. Select Download PDF.
5. Wait for the process to complete, then download the file when the confirmation link appears.

Note: The exact label and position of the options menu may vary depending on your account view. If you cannot locate the Download PDF option from the Workspace, use the Powtoon Studio path above.

What happens after the download

Once the PDF is ready, Powtoon displays a confirmation message with a link to download the file. Clicking that link saves the PDF to your computer. The file is not stored in your Workspace — you will need to save it locally or to your preferred storage location.

Notes:

1. Each page in the PDF reflects the state of its slide at 0.5 seconds before the slide ends. Objects with animations that start or complete after that point will not appear in the PDF.
2. The PDF download option is available from both Powtoon Studio and the My Powtoons page (Workspace).
