A transition is an animation-like effect that plays when your Powtoon moves from one slide to the next. By default, slides play in consecutive order without any transition effect. Adding a transition can give your Powtoon a more polished, dynamic feel between scenes.
This article covers how to add a transition to a slide, and how to change or remove one you have already applied.
Adding a transition between slides
To add a transition between slides in Powtoon Studio:
- In the slide panel on the left, select the slide you want to add a transition to.
- Click the Add transition icon directly below the slide thumbnail in the slide panel.
- Scroll through the available transition options. Hover over any transition to see a preview of how it will look.
- Click the transition you want to apply. The transition is added to the slide, and the icon below the thumbnail changes to indicate that a transition is now set between that slide and the next.
Note: The filled transition icon below a slide thumbnail indicates that a transition is active between that slide and the one that follows it.
Changing or removing a transition
To change or remove an existing transition between slides:
- In the slide panel, select the slide whose transition you want to edit.
- Click the transition icon below the slide thumbnail. The transition picker opens.
- Select a different transition to replace the current one, or click Remove Transition to remove it entirely.
Note: Removing a transition returns the slide to the default behavior — the Powtoon moves directly to the next slide with no effect.
