How to remove music from a Powtoon or your music library

You can remove music in two ways: unlink it from a specific Powtoon, or delete it permanently from your personal music library. This article covers both tasks.

Removing music from a specific Powtoon

Use this method to unlink background music from your Powtoon. The music file stays in your My Music library and can be reused later.

1. Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio and go to any slide.
2. Click the sound control button on the slide. The Sound Control panel opens.
3. Click the Clear icon in the Sound Control panel.

The music is removed from the entire Powtoon. The file remains available in your My Music library.

Note: Clicking Clear removes the music track from all slides in the Powtoon, not just the slide you are currently viewing.

Removing a music file from your personal library (My Music)

Use this method to permanently delete a music file you have uploaded. This cannot be undone.

1. In Powtoon Studio, select the Audio tab in the left panel.
2. Click My Music to view your uploaded music files.
3. Locate the file you want to delete.
4. Hover over the three-dot menu next to the file name. A trash icon appears.
5. Click the trash icon. A confirmation message appears asking you to confirm the deletion.
6. Click Remove to permanently delete the file.

The file is removed from your My Music library. This action cannot be undone.

Note: Deleting a file from My Music does not automatically remove it from any Powtoon it is already applied to. To remove it from a Powtoon as well, follow the steps in the Removing music from a specific Powtoon section above.
