You can add music to your Powtoon by choosing a track from Powtoon's built-in soundtrack libraries or by uploading your own music file. Both options are available from the Audio tab inside Powtoon Studio.
Note: You must be working in Create mode in Powtoon Studio to add music. If you do not see the Audio tab, check that you have switched to Create mode before continuing.

Selecting a soundtrack from the Powtoon libraries
Powtoon includes two built-in soundtrack libraries — Premium Music and Free Music — accessible from the Audio tab. Use the steps below to browse, preview, and apply a track to your Powtoon.
- Select the Audio tab in Powtoon Studio. The two soundtrack libraries, Premium Music and Free Music, will appear in the panel.
- Select the library you want to browse.
► By default, all soundtracks across the selected library are displayed. To filter by genre — such as happy, chill, or edgy — click the genre name.
► To search across both libraries at once, type your search term into the Search Sound bar at the top of the Audio panel. - Preview a track by clicking the play button to the left of the soundtrack name.
- Click Use to the right of the soundtrack name when you have found the track you want.
- Choose whether you want the soundtrack to play on a single slide or across the entire Powtoon.
The music is added to your Powtoon and will play back according to the scope you selected in step 5.
Uploading a music file
If you have your own music file, you can upload it directly to your Powtoon from the Audio tab. Uploaded tracks are saved to the My Music section of the Audio panel for reuse.
- Select the Audio tab in Powtoon Studio, then click Add music.
- Click the icon that corresponds to where your file is located, then upload your music file.
► The available upload options depend on your file's location (for example, your computer or a connected source). Select the relevant icon for your situation. - Choose whether you want the soundtrack to play on a single slide or across the entire Powtoon.
The uploaded track is added to the My Music section of the Audio tab and applied to your Powtoon according to the scope you selected in step 3.
Notes:
- Uploaded music files appear in the My Music section of the Audio tab, where you can reuse them in future Powtoons.
- If you do not see the Premium Music library or certain tracks are unavailable, this may be related to your subscription plan. Check your plan details for music library access.
