Powtoon does not include its own spell-check tool. Spell checking in Powtoon depends on your browser's built-in spell-check feature, which underlines misspelled words as you type in any text field on the stage.
Before you start
Confirm that spell check is enabled in your browser before you begin. If spell check is turned off at the browser level, no spelling indicators will appear while you type in Powtoon. The steps to enable browser spell check vary by browser — check your browser's settings or help documentation if you are unsure where to find this option.
How spell check works in Powtoon
When your browser's spell check is active, it monitors text you type anywhere in the browser — including text boxes on the Powtoon Studio stage. Misspelled words are typically underlined in red. You can right-click an underlined word to see suggested corrections from your browser.
- Open the Powtoon you want to edit.
- Click a text box on the stage to select it, then start typing.
- Watch for red underlines beneath words as you type — these are your browser's spell-check indicators.
- Right-click any underlined word to see spelling suggestions from your browser, then select the correct spelling to apply it.
Your browser continues checking spelling automatically as you type. No additional steps are needed inside Powtoon.
If spell check is not working
If you do not see any spelling indicators while typing in Powtoon, spell check is likely disabled in your browser. Check your browser's language or spell-check settings and make sure the feature is turned on for your preferred language. Once enabled, return to your Powtoon and begin typing — the indicators should appear immediately.
Note: Powtoon does not control browser spell-check behavior. If spell check works in other websites but not in Powtoon Studio, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache, then test again.
