How to send a Powtoon as a template to another user

If you have built a Powtoon that you want others to use as a starting point, you can send it as a template directly from your My Powtoons page. The recipient gets their own editable copy — any changes they make do not affect your original.

Before you start

You can send a template to any person, whether or not they already have a Powtoon account. If the recipient does not have an account, they will be prompted to create one before they can access the template.

How to send a Powtoon as a template

Go to your Workspace (My Powtoons page).
Locate the Powtoon you want to send as a template.
- ► If the Powtoon does not appear in your recent content, click View all to browse your full library.
Click the three-dot menu icon next to the Powtoon.
Select Send as a template from the menu.
Enter the recipient's email address in the field provided. To add more than one recipient, press Enter after each email address.
Click Send as a Template.

A copy of the template is sent immediately. Each recipient receives an email notification with a link to access it.

What happens next

When the recipient clicks the link in the email, they are taken to their own Workspace. The template appears in their My Powtoons list, sorted by the date it was received. From there, they can open and edit it as their own Powtoon.

Sending a Powtoon as a template is a reliable way to maintain a consistent look and feel across your team's content — everyone starts from the same foundation, and your original stays unchanged.

Notes

Any edits the recipient makes to the template do not affect your original Powtoon.
Recipients without a Powtoon account will be prompted to sign up before they can access the template.
