How do I preview a Powtoon in Video mode or Slideshow mode?
When you preview a Powtoon, you can choose how playback behaves. Video mode plays your Powtoon continuously from start to finish. Slideshow mode pauses near the end of each slide so you can advance manually — useful for presenting slide by slide.
Before you start
Open the Powtoon you want to preview in Powtoon Studio, or navigate to its player page. The mode you select applies to both preview playback and playback on the player page.
Switching between Video mode and Slideshow mode
- Open your Powtoon in preview or on the player page.
- Select Video mode to play the Powtoon continuously from the first slide to the last with no pauses between slides.
- Select Slideshow mode to pause playback at the holding point — 1 second before the end of each slide — so you can control when to move forward.
► In Slideshow mode, use the slideshow controls to advance to the next slide manually.
What happens next
In Video mode, your Powtoon plays through all slides without stopping. In Slideshow mode, playback holds at the 1-second mark before each slide ends and waits for you to advance. The mode you choose stays active for both preview and player page playback.
Notes
- Slideshow mode pauses at the holding point, which is 1 second before the end of each slide — not at the very end.
- You must advance slides manually in Slideshow mode; playback does not continue on its own.
- Your mode selection affects both the in-editor preview and the public or shared player page.
