How do I create an AI text-to-video with Veo 3?

AI Text to Video with Veo 3 lets you generate a short video, complete with audio, from a written description. This article walks you through the full workflow so you can go from prompt to finished Powtoon without contacting support.

Before you start

Before creating an AI text-to-video with Veo 3, confirm the following:

• Your account has access to AI Text to Video and the Veo 3 generation option. If you do not see Veo 3 in your account, it may not be available on your current plan.
• You have enough AI Credits to run a generation. Each Veo 3 generation uses AI Credits from your account balance.
• You have a prompt ready that describes the scene, subject, action, setting, and mood you want to capture.

Note: AI Credits are consumed when you generate a video. If your balance is insufficient, the generation will not proceed. See the AI Credits article for more information on checking and managing your balance.

How to create an AI text-to-video with Veo 3

1. Open AI Text to Video in Powtoon.
   ► The AI Text to Video panel will open inside Powtoon Studio.
2. Select Veo 3 as the generation model.
   ► If Veo 3 does not appear as an option, it is not available on your current plan.
3. Enter your prompt in the text field. Include specific details about the subject, action, setting, and mood to get the most accurate result.
4. Review your prompt before proceeding. The more precise your description, the closer the output will match your intent.
5. Click Generate to start the video creation process.
   ► Generation time will vary. Powtoon will process your prompt and produce the video automatically.
6. Review the generated video when it appears. If the result does not match what you expected, refine your prompt with more specific visual details and generate again.

Example prompt

A well-written prompt gives Veo 3 enough detail to produce an accurate result. Here is an example:

A cat drinking iced tea while sitting on a lawn chair, on a grassy and sunny day. The cat should be sitting and holding the drink like a person and humming a favorite tune.

This prompt works because it names the subject (a cat), the action (drinking iced tea, humming), the setting (lawn chair, grassy sunny day), and a specific visual style (holding the drink like a person). Use this structure as a starting point for your own prompts.

What happens next

After you click Generate, Powtoon processes your prompt using Veo 3 and produces a video with audio. The result appears in your workspace when generation is complete. You can then add the video to your Powtoon, refine it further, or generate a new version with an adjusted prompt.

If the output is not what you expected, revisit your prompt and add more specific details about the visual elements, camera angle, or mood before generating again.
