Can I Use Hindi Text When Creating a Powtoon?
You can use Hindi text when creating a Powtoon, but support for Hindi and other international languages is partial. Some text effects are not available when using Hindi fonts.
What is supported
Powtoon fully supports English text. For Hindi and other international languages, you can type and display text on the stage, but certain animated text effects do not work with Hindi fonts.
What does not work with Hindi text
The following letter-by-letter text animation effects are not compatible with Hindi fonts:
- Type
- Roll
- Bounce
If you apply one of these effects to a Hindi text element, the animation will not display as expected. Use a static text entry or a different animation style instead.
How to add Hindi text to your Powtoon
- Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio.
- Select a text element on the stage, or add a new text box from the toolbar.
- Type your Hindi text directly into the text field.
► If your keyboard is not set to a Hindi input method, switch your operating system's input language to Hindi before typing. - Choose a font that supports the Devanagari script. Not all fonts in Powtoon render Hindi characters correctly — check the preview on the stage after selecting a font.
- Avoid applying the Type, Roll, or Bounce text animation effects to Hindi text elements. Select a compatible animation or set the text entry to None.
- Continue editing your Powtoon as normal.
Note: Powtoon is actively working to expand full functionality for international text. Capabilities may change in future updates.
