Batch editing lets you update a font or text color in one place and apply that change to every matching text box across your entire Powtoon at once. This saves you from editing each text box individually.
Plan requirement: Batch editing requires a Business subscription. If you are on a different plan, the batch edit options will not appear.
Batch text editing supports two types of formatting:
- Font — change the font in one text box and apply it to every other text box using the same font.
- Color — change the text color in one text box and apply it to every other text box using the same color.
Changing the font across your Powtoon
To change a font and apply it to all matching text boxes:
- On the stage, select the text box whose font you want to change.
- With the text box selected, click the gear icon in the text formatting toolbar, then select the font field.
- Choose a new font from the font list.
- Click Apply to matching fonts.
Every text box in your Powtoon that used the original font will update to the new font automatically.
Note: The Apply to matching fonts button only appears if at least one other text box in your Powtoon uses the same font. If no other matching text boxes exist, the button will not be shown.
Changing the text color across your Powtoon
To change a text color and apply it to all matching text boxes:
- On the stage, select the text box whose color you want to change.
- Click the color selector in the text formatting toolbar.
- Choose a new color, then click Apply to matching colors.
Every text box in your Powtoon that used the original color will update to the new color automatically.
Note: The Apply to matching colors button only appears if at least one other text box in your Powtoon uses the same color. If no other matching text boxes exist, the button will not be shown.
Note: After applying a batch color change, it may take a few seconds for the slide thumbnails in the left panel to reflect the updated colors.
Why can't I see the batch edit option?
If the batch edit buttons do not appear, one of the following is likely the cause:
- Your plan does not include batch editing. This feature requires a Business subscription. Upgrade your plan to access it.
- No matching text boxes exist. The Apply to matching fonts and Apply to matching colors buttons only appear when at least one other text box in your Powtoon shares the same font or color. If your Powtoon has only one text box using that font or color, the option will not appear.
