Batch Editing lets you replace an object's color across your entire Powtoon at once. Instead of updating each object individually, you select a new color once and apply it to every object that shares the same original color throughout all slides.
Plan requirement: Batch Editing is available on the Business plan only. If you are on a different plan, the Apply to matching colors option will not appear. See the Business plan page for upgrade details.
What you can batch edit
Currently, Batch Editing supports object color only. You can change the color of a selected object and have that change applied to all other objects in your Powtoon that share the same color.
How to batch edit an object's color
- On the stage, select the object whose color you want to change.
- Click the Color Picker icon in the toolbar. The color picker panel opens.
- Select your new color from the panel.
- Click Apply to matching colors. The new color is applied to every object in your Powtoon that previously shared the original color.
Note: The slide thumbnails in the left-hand panel may take a few seconds to update and reflect the new color.
Why the batch edit option is not available
If you cannot see or use the Apply to matching colors option, one of the following reasons is most likely the cause.
Your plan does not include Batch Editing
Batch Editing is a Business plan feature. If you are on a Lite, Professional, Advanced, Pro+, or Agency plan, the option will not appear. Upgrade to the Business plan to access this feature.
There are no matching objects in your Powtoon
The Apply to matching colors button only appears when at least one other object in your Powtoon shares the same color as the selected object. If no matching objects exist, the option will not be shown.
The object does not have a solid color assigned
When you add a new object to Powtoon Studio, it may display a color wheel icon rather than a solid color in the Color Picker. This color wheel icon indicates that no specific color has been assigned to the object yet. You cannot use Apply to matching colors until you select a solid color for the object. Once you choose a color, the icon changes from the color wheel to a solid color swatch, and the batch edit option becomes available.
