If an enter or exit effect is not playing on an object, the object's timing on the slide is most likely too tight for Powtoon to run the animation. This is a timing issue, not a sign that the effect has been removed.
Before you start
- Confirm that the object already has an enter or exit effect applied. If no effect is assigned, there is nothing to display regardless of timing.
- Check whether the object appears at 0 seconds (the very start of the slide) or exits exactly at the end of the slide — these are the two positions that prevent effects from playing.
Why enter and exit effects go missing
Enter effects begin playing approximately half a second before the object appears on the stage. If the object is set to appear at 0 seconds, there is no time before its appearance for the effect to run, so Powtoon skips it.
Exit effects work the same way in reverse. The animation needs a small gap before the slide transition begins. If the object is set to exit at the exact end of the slide, that gap does not exist and the effect is skipped.
In both cases, the effect is still assigned to the object — it is the timing that prevents it from displaying.
How to fix a missing enter or exit effect
- Open the Powtoon in Powtoon Studio and navigate to the slide where the effect is missing.
- Select the object on the stage.
- Check the object's start and end times in the timeline.
- ► If the enter effect is missing, move the object's start time to 1 second or later.
- ► If the exit effect is missing, move the object's end time to at least 0.5 seconds before the end of the slide.
- Preview the slide to confirm the effect now plays as expected.
What happens after you adjust the timing
Once there is enough time before the object appears or before the slide ends, Powtoon can run the full animation. The enter or exit effect will display as it was originally configured.
Note: If the effect still does not appear after adjusting the timing, confirm that an effect is actually assigned to the object. Select the object, open its animation settings, and check that an enter or exit effect is listed. If the settings look correct and the problem continues, our Customer Support Team is at your service 24/7.
