Tabs and timeline are missing in Powtoon Studio

If you open a Powtoon in Powtoon Studio and the tabs on the right side of the screen — such as Scenes, Background, and Text — and the timeline are not visible, your Powtoon has opened in Edit mode.

Why this happens

When you create a Powtoon from a template, Powtoon Studio opens in Edit mode by default. Edit mode hides the tabs and timeline to give you a simplified editing view. Switching to Create mode restores the full interface, including all tabs and the timeline.

How to restore the tabs and timeline

1. Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio.
2. Locate the Studio modes drop-down list at the top of the screen.
3. Open the drop-down and select Create Mode.

The interface switches to Create mode. The tabs (Scenes, Background, Text, and others) and the timeline reappear on the screen.

Note: This setting applies to the current Powtoon session. If you open a template-based Powtoon again, it may reopen in Edit mode by default.
