Which browser is best for Powtoon?

Powtoon works with all major browsers, but Google Chrome gives you the most reliable, fully supported experience. If you run into unexpected behavior in another browser, switching to Chrome is the first step to try.

Supported browsers

Powtoon is compatible with the leading modern browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Apple Safari. Of these, Google Chrome is the recommended browser for Powtoon. Chrome receives the most thorough testing and is the best choice for day-to-day work in Powtoon Studio.

Before you start

Confirm which browser you are currently using. You can usually find this in your device's application list or by checking the browser's About menu.
If you do not have Google Chrome installed, download it from google.com/chrome before continuing.

How to switch to Google Chrome for Powtoon

Download and install Google Chrome on your device if you have not yet done so.
Open Google Chrome.
Go to powtoon.com and sign in to your account.
Continue working in Powtoon from Chrome.

Once you are working in Chrome, Powtoon will run with full browser support. Features such as Powtoon Capture (screen recording), Export, and playback are all optimized for Chrome.

If you still experience browser-related issues

If problems persist after switching to Chrome, try the following before contacting support:

Clear your browser cache and cookies, then reload Powtoon.
Disable browser extensions one at a time to check whether an extension is interfering.
Make sure Chrome is updated to the latest version. Go to Chrome menu > Help > About Google Chrome to check for updates.

Note: If you prefer to use a browser other than Chrome, Powtoon will still load, but some features may not perform as expected. Chrome is the only browser Powtoon actively recommends for all workflows.
