If Powtoon is not loading correctly or content looks outdated, clearing your Google Chrome cache forces the browser to fetch fresh files. This article covers how to clear the cache in Chrome on a PC or Mac.
Before you start
- You need Google Chrome installed on a PC or Mac.
- This article covers Chrome only. If you use a different browser, the steps will differ.
- If you are signed in to Chrome, clearing browsing data may affect your local browser session and saved site data for other sites as well.
How to clear the cache in Chrome
To clear cached images and files in Google Chrome, follow these steps:
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click the Chrome menu (the three-dot icon in the top-right corner of the browser window).
- Select Delete browsing data. The Delete browsing data panel opens.
- In the Basic tab, set the Time range dropdown to All time.
- Check the box next to Cached images and files.
► You can leave other options, such as Browsing history and Cookies and other site data, unchecked if you only want to clear the cache. - Click Delete data. Chrome removes the cached files immediately.
- Refresh the browser tab where Powtoon was open.
What happens next
After you clear the cache in Chrome, the browser no longer serves stored versions of page assets. When you refresh Powtoon, Chrome fetches the latest files directly from the server. If the issue you were experiencing was caused by outdated cached data, it should be resolved after the refresh.
Note: Clearing the cache does not delete your Powtoon account data, projects, or settings. It only removes locally stored browser files.
If Powtoon still does not load correctly after clearing the cache, our Customer Support Team is at your service 24/7.
