Designed text is a pre-built combination of an object (such as a callout or rectangle), a text element, and artistic styling. When you add designed text to a slide, all of its components are placed on the timeline in the correct order so they display and animate as intended. You can edit any individual component after adding it.
Before you start
You must be working in Create mode inside Powtoon Studio to access the designed text library. Designed text is available to all Powtoon users.
How to add designed text to a slide
To add designed text to your Powtoon, follow these steps:
- Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio and confirm you are in Create mode. The mode selector appears at the top of the editor.
- Select the Text tab in the left-hand panel.
- Scroll to the Add designed text section and select the category you want — for example, titles, callouts, or labels.
- Select the specific designed text style you want to add. It is placed on the stage automatically, and its components appear on the timeline in the correct playback order.
Note: Although designed text arrives pre-styled, you can click any component on the stage or timeline to edit its text content, color, size, or animation independently.
What designed text looks like
Designed text styles vary by category. Common examples include banner-style title treatments, speech-bubble callouts with decorative borders, and label combinations that pair a shape with a short text overlay. Each style is self-contained — the object, text, and artistic elements are grouped and ready to use without additional setup.
What happens next
After you add designed text, it appears on the stage and in the timeline. You can reposition it on the stage by dragging it, resize it using the corner handles, and edit the text by double-clicking the text component. Changes are saved automatically to your Powtoon.
