How to add text to your Powtoon
This article explains how to add text to your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio. Text is added from the Text tab and placed directly onto the stage for editing.
Before you start
You must be in Create mode in Powtoon Studio to add text. If you are in a different mode, switch to Create mode using the mode selector at the top of the editor before continuing.
Adding a text box to the stage
To add text to your Powtoon, follow these steps:
- Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio.
- Confirm you are in Create mode. The mode selector appears near the top of the editor.
- Click the Text tab in the left-hand panel.
- Choose the text size you want by clicking one of the following options:
- Add Title — adds a large text box (50 px)
- Add Subtitle — adds a medium text box (32 px)
- Add Body Text — adds a smaller text box (24 px)
- The text box appears on the stage. Click the text box to select it and start typing your content.
What happens next
Once the text box is on the stage, you can move, resize, and style it using the formatting options that appear when the text box is selected. Changes are saved automatically to your Powtoon.
Note: The pixel (px) values shown — 50 px, 32 px, and 24 px — are the default font sizes for each text type. You can adjust the font size after placing the text box on the stage.
