When you send a Powtoon to an export channel, the button label changes depending on whether you have exported that Powtoon before. This article explains what Export and Publish mean and when each label appears.
How Export and Publish work
Both actions do the same thing: they package your Powtoon into a format compatible with the export channel you have chosen. The only difference between Export and Publish is when each label appears.
- Export — appears the first time you export a specific Powtoon to a channel.
- Publish — appears every time you export the same Powtoon again, whether or not you have edited it since the last export.
In other words, the label reflects the history of that Powtoon, not the action itself. The underlying process is identical either way.
What Lite plan users see
If your account is on the Lite plan, which includes a limited number of exports, the button label on subsequent exports reads Publish Revision instead of Publish.
Note: The Publish Revision label applies only to Lite plan accounts. All other plan tiers display Publish on re-export.
