How to turn any document into a Powtoon using Anything to Video

Anything to Video lets you upload a document and transform it into a Powtoon complete with a voiceover, on-screen text, and footage video. You choose the content style and video type, review a generated script, and then generate your finished Powtoon — all without starting from scratch.

What your Powtoon will include

Every Powtoon created with Anything to Video includes the following elements:

A voiceover
On-screen text
A footage video (B-roll or animation, depending on the video type you choose)

Supported file types and limits

You can upload files in the following formats. Each file must be no larger than 20 MB and no more than 10 pages:

.pdf
.docx
.pptx

How to create a Powtoon from a document

From your My Powtoons page, click Create with AI.
Click Anything to Video.
Drag your file into the upload area, or click to browse and select it.
► Supported formats: .pdf, .docx, or .pptx — up to 20 MB or 10 pages.
Choose a content style for your Powtoon:
- Create a 90s video — generates a short, punchy Powtoon approximately 90 seconds long
- Summarize a document — condenses your document into a concise Powtoon
- Create a full recap — covers the full content of your document
Choose a video type:
- Footage based video (B-roll)
- Presentation video
- Animation video
- Presentation video with avatar (coming soon)
Click Generate Script. Powtoon Imagine will create a first draft of your script.
Review the script.
► If you want to change it, click Regenerate Script to produce a new version.
► If you are happy with the script, click Generate Video to continue.
After you click Generate Video, Powtoon Imagine will begin generating your Powtoon. This may take a moment.
Once generation is complete, your Powtoon is added to the Toolbox on the right side of the screen. From there, you can view or edit it in Powtoon Studio.

Note: The Anything to Video feature is part of Powtoon Imagine. Check your plan to confirm access. If the option does not appear in your workspace, your current plan may not include Powtoon Imagine.

With PowTunes anything to video, you can upload any document to instantly transform your static content into an engaging video. In this tutorial, we are going to upload a PDF file and have the AI turn it into a video that you can work on. In the workspace, select Create with AI on the left-hand side. Click anything to video. Select the File tab. You may either drag your file or click to upload. In this example, we are going to upload a file in PDF format. You may also upload other files like a Word document or PPT and should be up to 20 megabytes in file size or not more than 10 pages. Fill out the fields below. We will be adding more fields and options in the coming months. And click Generate Script. The first draft of the script will be created. If you don't like the script, you can click Regenerate Script. If you are happy with the draft, you can proceed by clicking Generate Video. The AI will now start creating the video according to the file that you have uploaded. The generated video will include individual voiceovers on each slide, on screen texts, and a video background. Once the video is created, it will be added to the toolbox on the right side, where you can view or edit it.
