How to Share a Powtoon

To collaborate with someone on a Powtoon, you need to share it with them first. Powtoon offers three ways to share a Powtoon, depending on what you want the other person to be able to do.

• Sharing to View — send a link so someone can watch your Powtoon.
• Sharing to Edit — invite someone to make changes to your Powtoon.
• Sharing to Comment — invite someone to edit and leave comments on your Powtoon.

Sharing to View

Sharing to View lets you send a link so someone can watch your Powtoon on the Powtoon Player Page. The recipient does not need a Powtoon account to view it.

Before you begin: You must have exported the Powtoon at least once before a shareable view link becomes available.

1. Go to your My Powtoons page.
2. Locate the Powtoon you want to share and click the Share button on its thumbnail.
3. Click Get link.
4. Click Copy Link.
5. Send or post the copied link to your intended viewer.

Sharing to Edit

Sharing to Edit gives another person permission to make changes to your Powtoon. The recipient must have a Powtoon account to edit. If they do not have one, they will be prompted to sign up when they open the invitation.

1. Go to your My Powtoons page.
2. Locate the Powtoon you want to share and click the Share button on its thumbnail.
3. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
4. Select Edit from the permission drop-down.
5. Click Invite.

If the recipient already has a Powtoon account, they will receive an email invitation and can begin editing right away. If they do not have an account, they will need to create one by clicking Open in Powtoon in the invitation email before they can start editing.

Note: Only one user can edit a Powtoon at a time.

Sharing to Comment

Sharing to Comment gives another person permission to both edit and leave comments on your Powtoon. As with Edit access, the recipient must have a Powtoon account. If they do not have one, they will be prompted to sign up when they open the invitation.

1. Go to your My Powtoons page.
2. Locate the Powtoon you want to share and click the Share button on its thumbnail.
3. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
4. Select Comment from the permission drop-down.
5. Click Invite.

If the recipient already has a Powtoon account, they will receive an email invitation and can begin editing and commenting right away. If they do not have an account, they will need to create one by clicking Open in Powtoon in the invitation email.

Note: Only one user can edit a Powtoon at a time.
