How to install the Powtoon Capture extension

Powtoon Capture is a Chrome browser extension that lets you record your screen, camera, and microphone directly from Powtoon. Before you can start recording, you need to install the extension and grant it the necessary permissions.

Requirement: Powtoon Capture requires the Google Chrome browser. Make sure Chrome is installed before you begin.

Install the Powtoon Capture extension

To install Powtoon Capture, follow these steps:

1. Open your Workspace and, in the right-hand panel, click Apps and Integrations.
2. Click Powtoon Capture in the list of available apps.
   ► Alternatively, go directly to the Powtoon Capture listing on the Chrome Web Store.
3. Click Add to Chrome.
4. Click Add extension in the confirmation dialog. Chrome will install the extension.
5. Pin the Powtoon Capture extension to your Chrome toolbar using the pop-up prompt that appears after installation. Pinning keeps the extension accessible while you record.
6. Click Allow when prompted to grant Powtoon Capture access to your camera and microphone.

Once you have completed these steps, Powtoon Capture is installed and ready for recording.

What happens after installation

After installation, the Powtoon Capture icon appears in your Chrome toolbar. Clicking it opens the recording controls so you can capture your screen, webcam, or both. Powtoon Capture saves your recordings and makes them available in your Workspace.

Note: If you skip the Allow step, Powtoon Capture will not be able to access your camera or microphone. You can grant these permissions later through your Chrome browser settings.
