The Global View is a unified timeline in Powtoon Studio that shows all your slides and audio tracks together. Use it to reorder slides, trim their lengths, and align audio with visuals across your entire Powtoon — without jumping between individual slides.
Open the Global View
To switch from the standard slide view to the global timeline:
- In Powtoon Studio, locate the Global View option at the bottom of the editor.
- Click Global View. The unified timeline opens, displaying all your slides and audio tracks in a single view.
Review and rearrange slides on the global timeline
The global timeline shows every slide in your Powtoon laid out in sequence. To change the order of your slides or adjust when each one appears, drag and drop slides along the timeline. This gives you a clear picture of your Powtoon's full structure and makes it easier to manage timing across all slides at once.
The global timeline also displays your audio tracks — both music and voiceover — as waveforms. Use these waveforms as visual cues to align slide transitions and animations with specific moments in your audio.
Trim slide lengths
To adjust how long individual slides last:
- Click the Trim button at the top left of the Global View.
- Drag the edges of a slide on the timeline to shorten or extend its duration until it matches your narration or music timing.
Zoom in or out for precise synchronisation
Use the zoom controls on the global timeline to change how much detail you see:
- Zoom in for frame-level timing adjustments between audio and visuals.
- Zoom out for a broader overview of your Powtoon's full structure.
Adjusting the zoom level lets you make accurate timing changes without losing sight of the overall flow.
Switch back to slide view
When you are ready to edit individual slides again:
- Click the control that exits the Global View and returns you to the slide-focused interface.
- Use the slide panel on the left to navigate directly to any slide in your Powtoon.
Note: You can restore the standard slide panel at any time by selecting it from the left-hand menu in the editor.
