By default, each slide in your Powtoon is 10 seconds long. You can increase or decrease that duration at any time using the timeline controls in Powtoon Studio.
Note: The maximum slide duration allowed is determined by your subscription plan. If you reach your plan's limit, Powtoon Studio will prompt you to upgrade.
You must be working in Create mode in Powtoon Studio to change slide duration. If you are in a different mode, switch to Create before following the steps below.
Increasing the duration of a slide
To increase how long a slide plays, you add seconds from a chosen point on the timeline.
- Open the slide you want to edit on the stage.
- Position the playhead on the timeline at the point from which you want to add time. In most cases, this will be near the end of the slide. For example, if your slide is currently 10 seconds long and you want to extend it, place the playhead at or near the 9-second mark.
- Locate the duration controls at the end of the timeline. Click + to add time in 1-second increments, starting from the playhead position.
Note: If your subscription plan limits the maximum slide duration, you will see an upgrade prompt when you attempt to exceed that limit. To access longer slide durations, you will need to upgrade your plan.
Reducing the duration of a slide
To shorten a slide, you remove seconds from a chosen point on the timeline.
- Open the slide you want to edit on the stage.
- Position the playhead on the timeline at the point from which you want to remove time. For example, if you want to shorten a 10-second slide to 4 seconds, place the playhead at the 4-second mark.
- Locate the duration controls at the end of the timeline. Click - to remove time in 1-second increments, starting from the playhead position.
Note: Reducing the duration of a slide will remove any content or animations that extend beyond the new end point. Review your timeline after shortening a slide to confirm nothing has been cut off unintentionally.
