How do I use front-facing character poses in Powtoon Studio?
Powtoon Studio includes a Direction control that lets you switch character poses between front-facing and side-facing orientations. Use this to make characters look directly at the audience, combine head and body orientations, or create more natural-looking poses in your Powtoon.
Who can use front-facing poses
Front-facing character poses are available to all users with access to Powtoon Studio. Support for these poses in Animated Layouts is rolling out and will appear there soon.
What front-facing poses include
The Direction control gives you the following options for any character pose:
- Front-facing variations for all character poses
- Side-facing variations for all character poses
- Head-only orientation control, independent of the body
- Full-body orientation control
- Mixed orientations — for example, a front-facing head combined with a side-facing body
How to use front-facing character poses in Powtoon Studio
- Open your Powtoon in Powtoon Studio.
- Select a character on the stage.
- Choose a pose for the character.
- Locate the Direction control in the character settings panel.
- Use the Direction control to switch between front-facing and side-facing views.
- Select head-only or full-body orientation depending on the look you want.
► To create a more natural pose, combine orientations — for example, set the head to front-facing and the body to side-facing.
Your changes are applied to the character immediately on the stage.
Notes
- Front-facing poses are currently available in Powtoon Studio. Animated Layouts will support these poses in an upcoming update.
- The Direction control applies per character and per pose — you can set different orientations for different characters on the same slide.
