Connecting to Powtoon via Clever
How do I connect to Powtoon?
To add Powtoon to your Clever portal, follow these steps on the Clever website:
- Go to the App Gallery and search for Powtoon.
- Click Install now and follow the on-screen instructions.
Adding and accessing students
How do I connect my students to Powtoon?
After you add Powtoon to your portal, the students in your roster file are automatically added to your Powtoon Classroom account. No additional steps are required on your part.
How do my students access Powtoon?
Students log in to the Clever platform and click the Powtoon icon. Once you have logged in to Powtoon at least once, students can also log in directly from Powtoon using Clever SSO (single sign-on).
Classrooms and co-teachers
Can a classroom have more than one teacher?
Yes. Once a Powtoon classroom is created for the first teacher, any teacher who joins that classroom afterward is added as a co-teacher. Both teachers and students can belong to more than one classroom.
What you and your students can do
What can I and my students do with Powtoon?
As a teacher, you can use Powtoon to create class lessons, assignment announcements, syllabuses, and more — bringing your curriculum to life with animated Powtoons. Your students can use Powtoon to transform homework, book reports, and other assignments into engaging Powtoon videos.
Trial period and subscription
Is Powtoon free?
Your Powtoon subscription begins with a 3-month free trial. During the trial, you and your students have access to all premium content — including templates, characters, objects, images, video clips, music, and more.
What happens after the 3-month free trial?
To continue using Powtoon after the trial ends, your school will need to purchase the Powtoon Clever Classroom plan for you and your students.
What does the subscription plan include?
The Powtoon Clever Classroom subscription plan includes:
- ► Unlimited access to all content, including royalty-free music, images, and videos
- ► Unlimited exports up to 20 minutes in length (full HD)
- ► Export of Powtoons as MP4 files
Do I need to purchase licenses for my students?
No. Your Powtoon subscription includes unlimited licenses for your students.
Assignments
How do students submit assignments to me?
Students access their personal My Powtoons page and submit their assignments from there. See Submitting assignments in Powtoon for more information.
Where do I see the assignments submitted by my students?
Submitted assignments appear on the My Classroom page. Access it by clicking Class in the navigation menu.

Where can I find resources for learning how to use Powtoon?
The Help Center contains hundreds of step-by-step articles covering all areas of Powtoon. You can also find a large selection of video tutorials for additional guidance.

Data and account continuity
What happens if my school does not purchase a subscription after the 3-month free trial?
The Powtoons created by you and your students remain in Powtoon's database for 45 days after the trial ends. After 45 days, they are permanently deleted.
If your school purchases a subscription before the 45-day period ends, all Powtoons created by you and your students will be restored to your accounts.
A student has moved to another school. What happens to the Powtoons they created?
If the student is moving to a school that also uses Powtoon through the Clever network, all of that student's Powtoons and media are automatically transferred to the new classroom.
