I'm a student. How do I sign up to Powtoon?

This article is for students who want to create a Powtoon account on their own, without being invited by a teacher.

Who this is for: Students signing up independently. If your teacher has already invited you to a class, follow the link in their invitation email instead.

How to sign up as a student

1. Go to the Education Solutions page.
2. Click Try It Free.
3. Click Student when prompted to select your role.
4. Choose one of the following sign-up options:
   • Enter a username and password, then click Sign Up.
   • Sign up with your Google for Education account.
   • Sign up with your Clever account.

Once your account is created, you will see an EDU badge on your profile and be taken directly to your Workspace, where you can start building your first Powtoon.

5. Click Tour to get a quick walkthrough of your Workspace before you begin.

Classroom notes

Sign-up options explained: You can register using a username and password, your Google for Education account, or your Clever account. All three options give you the same student account with the EDU badge.

What the EDU badge means: The EDU badge confirms your account is registered as a student account under Powtoon's educational plan.

Clever sign-in: Clever is a single sign-on (SSO) platform used by many schools. If your school uses Clever, selecting that option lets you log in with your existing school credentials.

Note: This sign-up flow is for students joining independently. If your teacher manages your class through Powtoon, they may send you a separate invitation link to join their classroom directly.
