How to swap or remove a slide background

If you have already added a background to a slide in Powtoon Studio, you can swap it for a different one or remove it altogether. Both actions start from the same area of the slide canvas.

Notes:

1. If your current background is a video, see Swapping a video instead.
2. If you want to switch to a solid color background, see Picking a background color instead.

Swapping a background

To swap the current background for a different image or media background:

1. In the upper-left corner of the slide, click Swap.
   ► Alternatively, right-click anywhere on the slide and select Swap background from the context menu.
2. The My Media library opens. The current background is highlighted with a blue border so you can see what is being replaced.
3. Browse the available libraries and locate the background you want to use.
4. Select the new background. The slide updates immediately to show the replacement.

Removing an existing background

To remove a background from a slide entirely, you replace it with a plain white color. There is no dedicated delete action for backgrounds.

1. In the upper-left corner of the slide, click Background settings.
2. Click Color.
3. Select the color white. The background is removed and the slide displays a plain white canvas.

Note: Selecting white is the equivalent of a blank background in Powtoon Studio. If you export your Powtoon with a white background, the exported MP4 file will show a white slide rather than a transparent one.
