How to export a Canva design to Powtoon

If you have a design in Canva, you can bring it into Powtoon and use it as the starting point for a Powtoon. Once it is imported, you can awesomize it using all the content and tools available in Powtoon Studio — animations, characters, music, and more.

Notes:

1. Before your first export, you must connect Powtoon to your Canva account. You only need to do this once.
2. The Powtoon stage is 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels tall. Your Canva design will be displayed at its actual size within that stage.
3. For best results, use the Canva Presentation or Instagram Post templates when creating your design. These dimensions fit the Powtoon stage most reliably.

Connecting Powtoon to your Canva account

To export a Canva design to Powtoon for the first time, you need to connect the two accounts. This connection is made from within Canva and only needs to be set up once.

1. In Canva, create a new design or open an existing one.
2. Click Share in the top-right corner of the Canva editor.
3. Click More in the share panel that opens.
4. Scroll down to the Design section and select Powtoon.
5. Log in to your Powtoon account when prompted.

Powtoon is now added to your Canva export options. You will see it listed the next time you open the share or export panel in Canva.

Exporting your Canva design to Powtoon

Once your Canva account is connected to Powtoon, you can export any Canva design directly into your Workspace.

1. Open the Canva design you want to export.
2. Click the three-dot menu (···) in the upper-right corner of the Canva editor, then select Powtoon.
   ► If you do not see Powtoon listed, click See all to expand the full list of options.
3. Select the pages you want to export, then click Save.
4. Click View in Powtoon.

The converted design is added to your My Powtoons page in your Workspace. From there, open it in Powtoon Studio to edit it using the full range of available content.

Note: Each exported Canva page becomes a separate slide on the Powtoon stage. The design is imported as a static image, so you will need to add animations, transitions, and other elements in Powtoon Studio.

Disconnecting Canva from your Powtoon account

If you want to remove the Canva integration from your Powtoon account, you can disconnect it at any time from your account settings.

1. Open your Powtoon account settings and click Apps & integrations.
2. Find the Canva integration and click Disconnect.
3. Click Disconnect again to confirm.

Canva is disconnected from your Powtoon account. You can reconnect it at any time by following the steps in the Connecting Powtoon to your Canva account section above.
