Importing a PowerPoint

If you have an existing PowerPoint presentation, you can import it into Powtoon and use it as a base for creating your video. This will enable you to re-use existing content to create Powtoons quickly and easily.

After importing your presentation and converting it into a Powtoon, you can use all the content available in the Powtoon Studio to further enhance and awesomize your video.
This functionality is currently in beta stage and, some elements in your PowerPoint will not be included in your Powtoon. You can add these features and more using the content in the Powtoon Studio.

Note:
Before starting the import process, make sure that the presentation you are importing is in PPTX format. All other presentation formats cannot be imported.
This note applies to presentations created in Google Slides and Keynote (Apple) as well as to presentations created in earlier versions of PowerPoint. You'll need to save these presentations in PowerPoint (PPTX) format before you can import them.

 

Importing your PowerPoint

  1. Go to the Powtoon Workspace.
  1. Click Import your Power Point on the left side of the page.

  2. Drag your PowerPoint file to the window or browse your computer for the file.
 

► The maximum file size is limited to 100 MB.

  1. After the process has successfully finished, you can have a preview or click Edit Your Powtoon to open the converted presentation in the Powtoon Studio.
  2. Before you begin editing, select the first slide and play the Powtoon from beginning to end. This step is important in order to assess the quality of the conversion.
 
  1. Edit and awesomize the Powtoon with all the available content in the Powtoon Studio.

Notes:
  • By default, a soundtrack is added to the converted presentation. This soundtrack can be
        swapped for any other ready-made soundtrack. See Swapping Music for more information.
  •  If the background in your PowerPoint was added using the slide master, it will not be
        converted to Powtoon and you will need to apply a new background.
        See Adding a Background for more information.

  1. After you've finished editing your Powtoon, export it to the desired format.
