If your business has requested a W-9 form from Powtoon, this article explains why one is not available and what to use instead.
Why Powtoon does not provide a W-9 form
Powtoon is a United Kingdom (UK) registered company. Because the W-9 form applies only to US-based entities, Powtoon uses the W-8BEN-E form instead. The W-8BEN-E is the standard Internal Revenue Service (IRS) form used by foreign companies to certify their non-US status for tax purposes.
How to get the W-8BEN-E form
The W-8BEN-E form is attached directly to this help center article. To download it:
- Scroll to the bottom of this article page.
- Locate the attachment listed under the article body.
- Click the attachment filename to download the form.
Note: If you do not see an attachment on this page, contact our Customer Support Team, who are available 24/7, and request the W-8BEN-E form directly. They can send it to you by email.
What this form confirms
The W-8BEN-E form certifies that Powtoon is a foreign (non-US) entity. Your finance or accounts payable team can use this form in place of a W-9 when setting up Powtoon as a vendor in your system.
